Ellie Black is a poet, writer, editor, and instructor originally from Arkansas. She is a graduate of Hendrix College, an attendee of NYU's Writers in New York, a former Oxford American and Copper Canyon Press intern, and a previous June fellow at the Bucknell Seminar for Undergraduate Poets. Her poems have appeared recently in or are forthcoming from Black Warrior Review, Best New Poets, DIAGRAM, and elsewhere. She has received awards from the C.D. Wright Women Writer's Conference, the Poets' Roundtable of Arkansas, the University of Mississippi, and Split Lip Magazine.
She is currently an MFA candidate at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in Oxford, MS. She is also a freelance editor and copyeditor, the Senior Poetry Editor of the Yalobusha Review, and an Associate Editor at Sibling Rivalry Press.
