Ellie Black is a poet, editor, screenwriter, performer, and educator originally from Arkansas. She received her MFA from the University of Mississippi, where she's now a PhD student in Creative Writing.
She has attended the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, the Bucknell Seminar, and NYU's Writers in New York program. She has volunteered and interned for Sibling Rivalry Press, the Oxford American, and Copper Canyon Press. Her poems have appeared in Poetry Online, Black Warrior Review, Best New Poets, DIAGRAM, and elsewhere. For her poetry, she has received awards from the C.D. Wright Women Writer's Conference, the Poets' Roundtable of Arkansas, the University of Mississippi, and Split Lip Magazine. She has also been recognized as a Second Rounder in the 2022 Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition.
