Ellie Black is a poet, editor, screenwriter, performer, and educator originally from Arkansas. She received her MFA from the University of Mississippi, where she's now a PhD student in Creative Writing.

Her poems have appeared in Mississippi Review, Poetry Online, Black Warrior ReviewBest New Poets, DIAGRAM, and elsewhere. Her prose and criticism appear in or are forthcoming from Hayden's Ferry Review, the Georgia Review, Fandom Spotlite, and the Adroit Journal. She has attended the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, the Bucknell Seminar, and NYU's Writers in New York program. Winner of the 2023 Pinch Literary Prize in Poetry, she has also received awards and recognition from the C.D. Wright Women Writer's Conference, the Poets' Roundtable of Arkansas, the University of Mississippi, Hendrix College, Split Lip Magazine, and the Austin Film Festival.
