Ellie Black is a poet, editor, screenwriter, actor, musician, and instructor originally from Arkansas. She is a graduate of Hendrix College and has attended the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, the Bucknell Seminar, and NYU's Writers in New York program. She has volunteered and interned for Sibling Rivalry Press, the Oxford American, and Copper Canyon Press. Her poems have appeared in Black Warrior Review, Best New Poets, DIAGRAM, and elsewhere. She has received awards from the C.D. Wright Women Writer's Conference, the Poets' Roundtable of Arkansas, the University of Mississippi, and Split Lip Magazine.
She is currently an MFA candidate at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. She is also a freelance editor and copyeditor as well as the Senior Poetry Editor of the Yalobusha Review.
